Zachary Rankin

Zachary Rankin is an associate attorney who represents employers in a variety of litigation matters. His primary focus is on the defense of employment cases, from complex wage and hour lawsuits to harassment, discrimination, and retaliation disputes. Zachary also provides a personalized approach to advising employers regarding best policies and practices on current and developing labor and employment issues.
Zachary received a merit-based scholarship to attend The University of San Diego School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2017. While in law school, he served as a law clerk for a boutique, downtown San Diego law firm focused primarily on litigating property disputes. He also served as a corporate extern for in-house counsel at a San Diego commercial real estate development company. Prior to joining Cook Brown, Zachary worked as an associate litigation attorney specializing in unfair and fraudulent business practices.
Zachary is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and admitted to practice in the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Prior to law school, Zachary attended Florida State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science.
