In May of 2016, Petco was threatened with a class action lawsuit by two California job applicants who claimed that in violation of federal law, they weren’t properly notified the company would conduct credit checks as part of the hiring process. Fortunately for Petco, there actually was a written notification in the online application form explaining the company’s procedure.
